Omschrijving:
In november 2013, sloeg het noodlot toe in de Filippijnen toen orkaan Haiyan een groot deel van het land verwoestte. Vier en een half miljoen mensen raakten dakloos en er waren vele duidzenden doden te betreiren.
Komende zomervakantie reis ik naar Cebu om een steentje bij te dragen aan de wederopbouw. Dat doe ik met de organisatie Projects Abroad. In een internationaal gezelschap van overwegend jonge mensen zal ik helpen bij de herbouw en renovatie van o.a. scholen.
Met deze site zal ik jullie zo goed mogelijk op de hoogte houden van de activiteiten. Geen idee of het lukken zal met internet. Enkele mede-vrijwilligers heb ik al ontmoet tijdens een training.
Projects Abroad draagt bij in de kosten van bouwmaterialen.

Tijdens mijn verblijf op de Filipijnen zal ik betrokken zijn bij de herbouw en reparatie van schoolgebouwen en gezondheidscentra in het noorden van het eiland Cebu. Het is zelfs niet uit te sluiten dat ik ook bij nog wat onderwijsactiviteiten assisteer, hoewel dat niet het vooropgezette doel is. Het wordt dus echt een andere missie als in Suriname.
De actuele projecten liggen in de stad Bogo en San Remigio. Het gebied is moeilijk bereikbaar door de enorme schade die is aangericht en een groot gedeelte van de bevolking is nog niet naar het gebied teruggekeerd.
In Noord Cebu zijn 874 klaslokalen door de storm verwoest. Door vrijwilligers van Projects Abroad is meegewerkt aan 4 schoolgebouwen bij Bogo City en 1 school bij San Remigio, waardoor ruim 1500 kinderen weer naar school kunnen.
De belangrijkste werkzaamheden waar vrijwilligers op worden ingezet zijn het repareren van daken en plafonds, het verstevigen van funderingen, stucadoren, metselen en schilderen. Dit gebeurt onder leiding van ervaren vaklui en ik hoop dan ook met wat nieuwe vaardigheden terug te komen. Want ik ben dan wel mijn hele carrière bouw gerelateerd werkzaam geweest; als het om praktische zaken ben ik niet zo heel handig. Inmiddels heb ik al een aardige uitzet aan persoonlijke beschermingsmiddelen aangeschaft want ik wil wel heel en gezond weer terugkomen.

Bogo City, Cebu, Filipijnen
Omschrijving:
In november 2013, sloeg het noodlot toe in de Filippijnen toen orkaan Haiyan een groot deel van het land verwoestte. Vier en een half miljoen mensen raakten dakloos en er waren vele duidzenden doden te betreiren.
Komende zomervakantie reis ik naar Cebu om een steentje bij te dragen aan de wederopbouw. Dat doe ik met de organisatie Projects Abroad. In een internationaal gezelschap van overwegend jonge mensen zal ik helpen bij de herbouw en renovatie van o.a. scholen.
Met deze site zal ik jullie zo goed mogelijk op de hoogte houden van de activiteiten. Geen idee of het lukken zal met internet. Enkele mede-vrijwilligers heb ik al ontmoet tijdens een training.
Projects Abroad draagt bij in de kosten van bouwmaterialen.

Tijdens mijn verblijf op de Filipijnen zal ik betrokken zijn bij de herbouw en reparatie van schoolgebouwen en gezondheidscentra in het noorden van het eiland Cebu. Het is zelfs niet uit te sluiten dat ik ook bij nog wat onderwijsactiviteiten assisteer, hoewel dat niet het vooropgezette doel is. Het wordt dus echt een andere missie als in Suriname.
De actuele projecten liggen in de stad Bogo en San Remigio. Het gebied is moeilijk bereikbaar door de enorme schade die is aangericht en een groot gedeelte van de bevolking is nog niet naar het gebied teruggekeerd.
In Noord Cebu zijn 874 klaslokalen door de storm verwoest. Door vrijwilligers van Projects Abroad is meegewerkt aan 4 schoolgebouwen bij Bogo City en 1 school bij San Remigio, waardoor ruim 1500 kinderen weer naar school kunnen.
De belangrijkste werkzaamheden waar vrijwilligers op worden ingezet zijn het repareren van daken en plafonds, het verstevigen van funderingen, stucadoren, metselen en schilderen. Dit gebeurt onder leiding van ervaren vaklui en ik hoop dan ook met wat nieuwe vaardigheden terug te komen. Want ik ben dan wel mijn hele carrière bouw gerelateerd werkzaam geweest; als het om praktische zaken ben ik niet zo heel handig. Inmiddels heb ik al een aardige uitzet aan persoonlijke beschermingsmiddelen aangeschaft want ik wil wel heel en gezond weer terugkomen.

In november 2013, sloeg het noodlot toe in de Filippijnen toen orkaan Haiyan een groot deel van het land verwoestte. Vier en een half miljoen mensen raakten dakloos en er waren vele duidzenden doden te betreiren.
Komende zomervakantie reis ik naar Cebu om een steentje bij te dragen aan de wederopbouw. Dat doe ik met de organisatie Projects Abroad. In een internationaal gezelschap van overwegend jonge mensen zal ik helpen bij de herbouw en renovatie van o.a. scholen.
Met deze site zal ik jullie zo goed mogelijk op de hoogte houden van de activiteiten. Geen idee of het lukken zal met internet. Enkele mede-vrijwilligers heb ik al ontmoet tijdens een training.
Projects Abroad draagt bij in de kosten van bouwmaterialen.

Tijdens mijn verblijf op de Filipijnen zal ik betrokken zijn bij de herbouw en reparatie van schoolgebouwen en gezondheidscentra in het noorden van het eiland Cebu. Het is zelfs niet uit te sluiten dat ik ook bij nog wat onderwijsactiviteiten assisteer, hoewel dat niet het vooropgezette doel is. Het wordt dus echt een andere missie als in Suriname.
De actuele projecten liggen in de stad Bogo en San Remigio. Het gebied is moeilijk bereikbaar door de enorme schade die is aangericht en een groot gedeelte van de bevolking is nog niet naar het gebied teruggekeerd.
In Noord Cebu zijn 874 klaslokalen door de storm verwoest. Door vrijwilligers van Projects Abroad is meegewerkt aan 4 schoolgebouwen bij Bogo City en 1 school bij San Remigio, waardoor ruim 1500 kinderen weer naar school kunnen.
De belangrijkste werkzaamheden waar vrijwilligers op worden ingezet zijn het repareren van daken en plafonds, het verstevigen van funderingen, stucadoren, metselen en schilderen. Dit gebeurt onder leiding van ervaren vaklui en ik hoop dan ook met wat nieuwe vaardigheden terug te komen. Want ik ben dan wel mijn hele carrière bouw gerelateerd werkzaam geweest; als het om praktische zaken ben ik niet zo heel handig. Inmiddels heb ik al een aardige uitzet aan persoonlijke beschermingsmiddelen aangeschaft want ik wil wel heel en gezond weer terugkomen.

De actuele projecten liggen in de stad Bogo en San Remigio. Het gebied is moeilijk bereikbaar door de enorme schade die is aangericht en een groot gedeelte van de bevolking is nog niet naar het gebied teruggekeerd.
In Noord Cebu zijn 874 klaslokalen door de storm verwoest. Door vrijwilligers van Projects Abroad is meegewerkt aan 4 schoolgebouwen bij Bogo City en 1 school bij San Remigio, waardoor ruim 1500 kinderen weer naar school kunnen.
De belangrijkste werkzaamheden waar vrijwilligers op worden ingezet zijn het repareren van daken en plafonds, het verstevigen van funderingen, stucadoren, metselen en schilderen. Dit gebeurt onder leiding van ervaren vaklui en ik hoop dan ook met wat nieuwe vaardigheden terug te komen. Want ik ben dan wel mijn hele carrière bouw gerelateerd werkzaam geweest; als het om praktische zaken ben ik niet zo heel handig. Inmiddels heb ik al een aardige uitzet aan persoonlijke beschermingsmiddelen aangeschaft want ik wil wel heel en gezond weer terugkomen.

[description] => Koert gaat regelmatig naar Suriname om workshops te geven aan collega's in het onderwijs, ouders en leerlingen. Maar als er een gaatje valt in het programma, dan springt hij graag op de mountainbike om door de savanne en het oerwoud te fietsen.
In 2014 hielp Koert 5 weken mee aan de herbouw van verwoeste scholen in de Filipijnen en in 2016 werkte hij mee aan een kleinschalig herbouwprogramma van woonhuizen in Nepal. Ook in 2017 staat Nepal op het programma om mee te werken bij de herbouw van scholen die door de aardbevingen werden verwoest.

[description] => In november 2013, sloeg het noodlot toe in de Filippijnen toen orkaan Haiyan een groot deel van het land verwoestte. Vier en een half miljoen mensen raakten dakloos en er waren vele duidzenden doden te betreiren.
Komende zomervakantie reis ik naar Cebu om een steentje bij te dragen aan de wederopbouw. Dat doe ik met de organisatie Projects Abroad. In een internationaal gezelschap van overwegend jonge mensen zal ik helpen bij de herbouw en renovatie van o.a. scholen.
Met deze site zal ik jullie zo goed mogelijk op de hoogte houden van de activiteiten. Geen idee of het lukken zal met internet. Enkele mede-vrijwilligers heb ik al ontmoet tijdens een training.
Projects Abroad draagt bij in de kosten van bouwmaterialen.
